Interspecifics open up a new platform for experimental music: “This is not an academic exercise. This is not a festival. This is a listening insurgency. Forgotten Noise is a living cartography in progress. A map made of vibrations, materials, rituals, hacked machines, recycled devices, and embodied knowledge.”

What does sonic experimentation sound like when it emerges not from the academy, the lab, or the well-funded residency, but from the unstable grounds of precarity, displacement, rupture — and radical inventiveness? What new epistemologies of sound emerge when we listen from below, from the edges, from the territories long erased from the global map of experimentation?

In this first edition, Interspecifics brings together a constellation of artists whose practices showcase what they call “auto-musicology”: a self-reflective sonic method where the artist is simultaneously practitioner, theorist, and archivist. Here, sound is not simply the subject of study — it is method, archive, and resistance. Forgotten Noise is not just a curatorial platform; it is also an act of publication-as-intervention — generating a living counter-archive of voices, tools, techniques, and political gestures.
