With Som Supaparinya

As part of Som Supaparinya’s solo exhibition Melted Stars, daadgalerie presents one of the artist’s early video works, Taste of Noodles. During the screening, Thai noodles will be offered for tasting. The event will be followed by an artist talk between Som Supaparinya and Philippa Lovatt, in which the artist will discuss her broader practice as well as the exhibition in particular.

The video Taste of Noodles shows the diversity of noodle cultures in Thailand and Vietnam, which have adapted or reinvented Chinese cuisine in different ways and in different places. Both cultures share many similarities as well as differences in terms of the origin and production of noodles and how they ultimately became an authentic dish.
