The title of the third event in the Peilung series—curated by Lada Nakonechna and Bettina Klein and focusing on issues of current importance for Ukraine—is borrowed from military vocabulary.

No-strike lists are inventories of buildings, collections, or facilities protected by international law or the international law of war from the consequences of military operations.

In the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, houses, schools, and kindergartens as well as important religious buildings, universities, museums, art collections, libraries and archives, opera houses, theaters, and other cultural institutions have been badly damaged and/or looted. International conventions are being ignored by the Russian invaders, whose objective is the destruction of Ukrainian culture and identity.

Together with curator and art historian Hanna Aliyeva from the National Art Museum of Ukraine (Kyiv), Oleksandr Teliuk, film historian and curator at the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Center in Kyiv, and artists and architects Dana Kosmina and Oleksandr Burlaka, we will discuss strategies and conflicts that have emerged in defending Ukrainian cultural heritage.
