With Burak Çevik

Alan (Turkish noun): In cities, an open, flat and wide place, near historical monuments, where gatherings can be held. Alan is also the name of a new series of gatherings and encounters initiated and organized by filmmaker Burak Çevik (film fellow 2022) and artist Dilşad Aladağ. The third installment aims to create a space for artistic narratives that intersect on the axes of collecting, memory, and archive, blurring the lines between fiction and reality. Cana Bilir-Meier’s publication & collage Portrait As an Image As a Description delves into family archives to create an intergenerational dialogue that overlaps recordings, images and poems. Dilşad Aladağ’s lecture performance, TAKLAK, searches for a sense of belonging abroad by following the traces of a plant through herbariums, tales, streets, and mountains. Zeynep Toraman’s new album, In a Dark House, combines synths, different instruments, and field recordings collected over years to create an ambient / electroacoustic music experience
