With Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor

Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor burst into the literary limelight in 2006 when she won the Caine Prize for African Writing. Today she is one of the leading voices of contemporary African writing, in part because of the underlying philosophy of language that animates her work. Her writing is a constant search for the complex ways that language—as poetry and as witness—shapes our imagination of space, temporal archetypes, and memory. At the conclusion of her year-long residency in Berlin, Owuor will offer insights into her literary work in a discussion with author, journalist, and curator Michael Götting on May 31.

Reading and discussion in English
daadgalerie 1st floor, Oranienstr. 161, 10969 Berlin
