How do the arts, sciences, and civil society activism jointly respond to the planetary crises? The Festival der Kooperationen at Literaturhaus Berlin invites stakeholders from the independent art scene to collaborate closely with one another and with the natural, cultural, and social sciences. The aim is to create new loci and independent forms of collaboration as envisaged by author and filmmaker Alexander Kluge, who has played an active role in the festival’s conception and realization. The festival seeks to foster a polyphonic resistance against the impoverishment of the public sphere, social regression, and ecological self-destruction—as well as promote a utopian potential that people, as inherently collaborative beings, can bring to bear together.

The DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program is a festival partner. Author Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor, a current fellow in Berlin, and architect Srdjan Jovanovic Weiss, who will be artist-in-residence at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in the fall, will participate in two events held at Literaturhaus Berlin and via livestream.
