In conversation with his longtime friend and colleague Patricia Belli, Edgar Calel delves into various aspects of his artistic practice and his relationship to the Kaqchikel cosmovision: from abstract geometry, which he traces back to indigenous-textile or body-painting motifs, to performances and videos involving family members and representatives of other indigenous communities. Materials and voices from nature form a referential framework for exploring existential questions.

The talk will be in Spanish and English with translation by writer Mayra A. Rodríguez Castro.
