With Emre Dündar

The #BAJMT (Bundesakademie für junges Musiktheater) has commissioned compositions for three short operas. With the support of the Artists-in-Berlin Program, Emre Dündar (2020 fellow) has been selected as one of the composers. Adolescents and young adults between the ages of sixteen and twenty-three will partner with experienced artists to create three works for the stage. They will perform singing roles, contribute ideas to artistic direction, as well as impact the aesthetic and technical aspects of the production—directing, stage design, video, costume design. They will be supported and guided by professionals Annika Haller (director/stage design), Mareike Uhlig (costume/makeup), Camilla Fehér (video/video art), and Hans Gröning (vocals).

In Yirdolap, Emre Dündar sets three poems to music: Roundelay by Samuel Beckett, maggie and milly and molly and may by E.E. Cummings, and In beauty may I walk by ANON. Margarete Huber wrote her music theater piece Es ist doch ein Wandel über mich gekommen based on Alfred Döblin’s novel Jagende Rosse. Christoph Breidler’s play paradies spielen (abendland. ein abgesang) is the third installment of his climate trilogy based on the play of the same name by Thomas Köck.
