The DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program warmly congratulates László Krasznahorkai on being awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature.
A former fellow of our program in 1987, Krasznahorkai has maintained a close and enduring relationship with Berlin, a city where he has lived, written, and taught at the Freie Universität Berlin as the 2008 Samuel Fischer Guest Professor. His books are published in German by S. Fischer Verlag, a long-standing home for his remarkable work. His distinctive literary voice has shaped the imagination of readers and writers alike, leaving a deep and lasting presence in world literature.
