In the framework of Energies, an interdisciplinary gathering on sound and architecture, co-hosted and curated by Sonorous Cities (SONCITIES), Jan St. Werner will launch his upcoming book, Vibraception – Investigations in Wavespace, published by K. Verlag, MaMa, and MSU (Muzej suvremene umjetnosti Zagreb).

Vibraception – Investigations in Wavespace is a compilation of approaches to conceiving space under the influence of vibratory forces. It serves as a companion to a series of experimental sound interventions conducted inside and around the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb (MSU) between September 2024 and April 2025, culminating in an exhibition in and around the museum.

Investigations were conducted by Michael Akstaller, Rudyard Schmidt, Gascia Ouzounian, Brett Mommersteeg, Nikola Bojić, Damir Gabulin, David Grubbs, and Jan St. Werner. The book contains additional perspectives and contributions from Louis Chude-Sokei, Marina Peterson, Madison Greenstone, Andy Graydon, Marta Pedišić, and Ana Škegro. Each contributor to the publication undertook their own exploration from an academic, scientific, fictional, dialogical, curatorial or idiosyncratic perspective.

For the launch, Jan St. Werner will perform live together with Madison Greenstone. Marina Peterson and Brett Mommersteeg will read excerpts and discuss their approaches.
