Anatomies of the Archipelago unfolds as a performative journey through photographs, moving images, archival fragments and texts. Opening a series of archive boxes, filmmaker and artist Malaury Eloi Paisley retraces the evolution of her artistic practice and the questions that have shaped her work in Guadeloupe. Joined by Themba Bhebhe as a storyteller, the audience is invited into a landscape whose past and present remain largely unknown beyond its shores. Combining live image manipulation, conversation and film excerpts, the performance asks a simple question: what does it mean to live in a colony today? In doing so, it begins to assemble a counter-archive from stories, images and histories that have long remained outside official narratives.
