With Karen Power
Irish composer Karen Power collected unique audio recordings during her explorations above, below, and inside the ice of the North and South Poles. Based on this material, life between poles (WP) was created – a 60-minute multimedia performance for two ensembles, video, light, surround sound, and live resonant objects. The world premiere will be presented jointly by ensemble mosaik from Berlin and the Irish Quiet Music Ensemble as part of the Klangwerkstatt Berlin festival. Not only the instrumental and sampled sounds and the large video projections interact in this work, but also the architectural and dialogical space between the musicians, performers, and the audience. In this way, the work creates a space in which the polar regions can resound and be perceived in all their uniqueness, beauty, fragility, and wildness.
Followed by a panel discussion and reception, supported by Culture Ireland and the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program
