Pi

Musicality as a relationship to movement, listening as a practice of connecting to intuition are the themes of the seminar by the Brazilian transmasculine dance artist Pol Pi, who lives in France. A musician since childhood, he studied music, theater, butoh and choreography; he tours internationally with his company NO DRAMA and the music ensemble Kaleidoskop, works with amateur groups in the medical-social field and in the queer community.

In the winter semester of 2025/26, Pol Pi will hold the Valeska Gert Visiting Professorship for Dance and Performance at the Freie Universität Berlin. Based on his relationship to movement as a musical form, as Valeska Gert Visiting Professor he will explore possible translations of musically connoted terms through movement research, but also listening as a practice of connecting with intuition.
