A reading and discussion with César Aira

Presentation: Katharina Döbler

Roberto Bolaño, so they say, once said of César Aira: Anyone who has read merely one book by the Argentinian author is henceforth completely addicted. César Aira is also recognized to be one of the most notable Argentinian authors by his native colleagues. Born in 1949 in Buenos Aires, the writer has published novels as well as short stories, essays and plays and is known to a lesser extent for his story-telling and more so for unleashing games of imagination.

He is now in Berlin for two months, at the invitation of the Artists-in-Berlin Program of the DAAD - just on time for the premiere of his book "Der Literaturkongress"(translated from Argentinian Spanish into German by Klaus Laabs). César Aira satirizes his own role as an author and devotes himself to current issues of originality and copy.

In cooperation with Ullstein Buchverlage.
