The Canadian composer Gilles Gobeil was a guest of the Artists-in-Berlin Program in 2008, and is one of the most important figures in the acousmatic music scene. Here, for the Technical University of Berlin’s Electronic Studio’s »EM-hören« series, he presents acousmatic compositions and works for electronic instruments – particularly for Ondes Martenot, one developed by Maurice Martenot in France in 1928. The compositions »Castalie« and »Les lontains noirs et rouges« were written during the artist’s stay in Berlin, arising from his collaborative work with the Technical University of Berlin’s Electronic Studio and premiered at »Inventions« Festival.
The Canadian organist Suzanne Binet-Audet plays Ondes Martenot. The concert at the AckerStadt Palast in Berlin is part of a tour based on this program – other stops along the way include the ZKM in Karlsruhe as well as festivals in Magdeburg, Essen and Weimar.

This concert has been organized with the support of the DAAD’s Artists-in-Berlin Program, as well as the Technical University of Berlin’s Electronic Studio (Faculty of Audiocommunication).
