Sound installations
Festival Inventionen 2010
Opening: thursday, July 27th, 17 h
Yutaka Makino transforms our perception of time with his light and sound installation “Stratum” in the befogged chapel of the villa. When the laser beams connect with the architectural space and the tonal volume the listener actively takes part in the happenings of individual light spectra.

The silent installation with „Raumgeflechten“ by Julius Stahl forms a spatial construction out of three wire surfaces, which are displaced around the room and resonate. Shadows of these wire surfaces are projected onto three paper strips using profile spotlights. These wire surfaces are made to resonate over a multi-channel system of mechanical vibration convertors. Audible sound emerges via the resonance of the single wires. Due to a specific way of installation the sound movements become visible.
