When it comes to Europe, writes novelist Dubravka Ugresic in her collection of essays Europe in Sepia, writers play "amateur sermonizers" available on demand to analyze the crisis of the hour. For the people of Moldova, Europe is an unfulfilled promise of consumption and prosperity, diagnoses Nicoleta Esinencu in Rest of Europe. Playwright and essayist Enis Maci addresses the strategies of the radical right and the conditions of knowledge and resistance in Eiscaf├ę Europa. Ugresic, Esinencu, and Maci join together at the daadgalerie on the Long Night of Ideas: three critical thinkers whose sense of unease regarding Europe forms the starting point for a lucid assessment of our time. The discussion will be moderated by Priya Basil.
