Shkololli, Erzen

Erzen Shkololli was born 1976 in Pejë and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Pristina. In his video works, Erzen Shkololli deals with the traditions that are part of the social structure of his homeland. He isolates the central motifs of deeply rooted rituals in order to define them anew in the context of art. Marriage rituals, the clothing code of elderly women – cultural states of affairs such as these generally provide the leifmotif for Shkololli’s video portrayals.
